Who we are
BuildingSMART International (bSI) is a global non-profit organization dedicated to developing open standards for the digital transformation of the construction sector and the built environment. buildingSMART aims to enable data interoperability, open collaboration, and increased efficiency across the entire asset lifecycle through the adoption of vendor-neutral standards such as IFC (Industry Foundation Classes).
CRTI-B represents the Luxembourg Subchapter. As part of the buildingSMART Benelux Chapter (Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg), our mission is to support the construction sector in becoming more competitive — particularly through the use of openBIM standards (openBIM) developed by BuildingSMART International, to improve digital data exchange between all project stakeholders.
CRTI-B is also a member of the European openBIM Forum (EOF) — a pan-European initiative uniting buildingSMART Chapters to provide a collective voice toward European institutions and promote a consistent digital transformation strategy within the European Union.
In addition, CRTI-B actively contributes to the FFoB – Forum Francophone de l’openBIM, a French-speaking community of digital transformation actors in the construction industry (chapters, associations, experts). The forum focuses on consolidating and sharing openBIM actions, feedback, and best practices in the French language, while strengthening the adoption of open standards in Francophone regions.
Through these alliances, our Subchapter helps bridge technology, standards, industry professionals, and policy makers to accelerate the digital transition of the building and real-estate sector — while advocating for a collaborative, open, sustainable, and future-ready approach.
