Introduction

Outils & Méthodes d’aide à la conception et à la gestion de projet - Le BIM en phase soumission
Design and project management tools & methods – BIM in the tender phase

Description

This course will show you how a 3D BIM model (Revit, Archicad or IFC) can be used to extract quantities in different ways depending on the project phase. Based on the BIMoffice software, we will then show you how to automatically generate bills of quantities/estimates from these quantity extractions. Finally, a focus will be placed on the bidding, adjudication and construction site phases for financial management, linked to quantity extractions from the 3D model.

Objectives

At the end of the training, the participant will be able to :

  • understand the different methods for extracting quantities from a 3D BIM model
  • determine the quantity extraction mode according to the project phase and the level of detail of the 3D model
  • knowledge of the technical possibilities for automating the generation of bills of lading from quantity extractions
  • be familiar with the technical possibilities for linking job accounting and quantity extraction, particularly in the bidding and construction phases

Program

  • The “cost estimation” use case in the overall context of a BIM project
  • Quantity extraction methods depending on the level of detail of the model (graphics and information)
  • Extraction control options
  • Slip generation in BIMoffice from an extraction
  • Getting to grips with BIMoffice and practical exercise in extracting quantities from a supplied 3D model
  • Demonstration of the model/bill of lading/accounting link in the bidding and awarding phase with paperless bidding
  • Demonstration of the link between model, bill of lading and accounting during the construction phase, with management of statements of account, progress reports and payment agreements.
