Introduction
Description
Parametric modeling has been used for decades by industry, and is currently a tool to be considered in the field of architectural design. Although used more frequently today, parametric tools still come up against their image of complexity, limited creative possibilities and difficult handling.
This course covers the basics of parametric modeling, giving participants an overview of the advantages of this type of design: generation of multiple variants, creation of complex geometries, realization of practical day-to-day tools.
Objectives
At the end of the training, the participant will be able to :
- Understanding the concept of parametric modeling ;
- Set up a simple algorithm to model a project;
- Design practical tools that can be grafted onto a standard design ;
Program
- The challenges and benefits of parametric modeling ;
- Set up an algorithm to generate a small project, more complex geometries and see how easy it is to create variants;
- The application of parametric design with classic modeling software such as ArchiCAD ;
Duration: 1 day, 7 hours
Equipment required
One PC per participant with the following software installed;
- ArchiCAD (version 23 or 24) ;
- Rhinoceros 6 (a trial version downloaded before training is sufficient) ;
- A standard ArchiCAD template will be provided to all participants;
- The plugins you need to install will be supplied on the day of training.

Please note that, for environmental reasons, no paper version of the training material will be provided for your training. The course material can be downloaded free of charge from your portal before the start of the course. You can view it on your mobile device or print it out if required. If your registration was made by a training manager in your company, please contact him/her so that he/she can give you access to it or send it to you.
Certificate
At the end of the course, participants will receive a certificate of attendance issued by the House of Training and the OAI.
